CREATING A STATE-OF-THE-ART E-COMMERCE SITE FOR THE ARTIST COMMUNITY
CHALLENGE
Utrecht Art Supplies needed to update its ecommerce site to better integrate with its internal systems, provide for more intuitive navigation and product search functions, and better portray the Utrecht brand.
SOLUTION
D2 Creative took Utrecht through a branding process in order to flesh out all of the key attributes of the brand. The information gathered in this process was used to design and re-architect the site. The technical enhancements to the site included a completely revamped ecommerce system – tightly integrated with Utrecht's internal inventory and CRM systems. Pro forma requests get current information from these systems at checkout. Other enhancements included a complex system of coupon codes, integration with Utrecht's loyalty card program, and real-time shipping cost look-ups for large or bulk shipped items. In addition, D2 integrated a BLOG system to allow for a continued dialogue with Utrecht's community of artists.
