MANAGING PERFORMANCE AND COMPENSATION
CHALLENGE
The HR department of a global pharmaceutical giant asked Appliedinfo Services to create an application for end-to-end performance management of its US field force (including Puerto Rico), of over 10,000 individuals. The application would facilitate everything from collection of assessments on key capabilities to integration of sales performance numbers and feeds to systems that ultimately use the data to drive compensation.
SOLUTION
Appliedinfo Services designed an application that employs a browser based interface, using a centralized application and database server. It authenticates users through an SSO (single sign-on) mechanism and integrates with an application portal for authorization. It has automated processes that pull or subscribe to data from external systems including PeopleSoft, Field Force Management, and Sales and Awards systems. It then integrates the information from these different sources with data collected within the application to build metrics used as a basis for compensation increases, stock options, career progression, etc.
AIS continues to work very closely with the client to support this application, adding value by providing a historical perspective on the processes and data, in understanding the impact of changing business rules, and helping to proactively identify issues that need to be addressed to prevent them from becoming bigger problems. The application has evolved to adjust to the constantly changing business and user requirements, and our support of the application has allowed it to remain relevant over the years.
