CHALLENGE
The Triborough Bridge and Tunnel Authority needed a more efficient system to automate the daunting task
of tracking the currency collected by all the tunnels and bridges leading into and out of New York City.
SOLUTION
The database-driven application specialists at Appliedinfo Services gave the currency collecting system a
comprehensive overhaul, supplying both hardware and software solutions. We developed a database that
automatically integrates weigh scales, barcode scanners, mark-sense readers, and a Weigand key system.
The result is a centralized database—available for review and processing from a simple GUI
interface—that greatly enhances efficiency and can be utilized even by non-technical staff.
